LumetrixDx - Depression Diagnostics

LumetrixDx is an ai powered diagnostic tool that gives clinicians an objective view of depression related brain activity, supporting faster, more precise treatment decisions.

Why depression needs better tools.

Depression is common. Effective treatment is not always simple.

Major depressive disorder affects millions of people and is a leading cause of disability worldwide. Although effective treatments exist, many people wait months or years to receive the right care.

Today, clinicians rely heavily on symptom questionnaires and clinical interviews. These tools are essential, but they are subjective and can be influenced by how a person describes their experience, time pressure in clinics, and differences in clinical practice.

The result is:

  • Delays in starting effective treatment

  • Trial-and-error prescribing

  • People feeling disbelieved or dismissed when they say “something is wrong”

We believe everyday depression care should have access to the same kind of objective, physiological information that has transformed other areas of medicine.

What does LumetrixDx do?

Turning activity into decision support

LumetrixDx has been developed to provide clinicians with a standardised, objective measure of brain activity patterns that are associated with major depressive disorder.

In a typical use case, LumetrixDx would:

  • Measure
Record a brief EEG from the frontal regions of the brain, using non-invasive sensors on the forehead during a few minutes of quiet rest.

  • Analyse
Apply validated algorithms to derive a depression-related brain signature, combined with a short, structured symptom questionnaire.

  • Support decisions
Provide clinicians with a clear, interpretable output – for example standardised scores and risk bands – to support diagnosis, treatment choice and monitoring over time.

LumetrixDx is designed to complement, not replace, clinical judgement and patient history.

Who is LumetrixDx for?

Designed for real-world depression care

For clinicians and services
Give GPs, psychiatrists, psychologists and mental health teams an additional, objective source of information when assessing and managing depression, especially in complex or borderline cases.

For patients and families
Offer a way to show that depression has a real, measurable footprint in the brain – helping people feel believed, understood and better supported in shared decision-making.

For health systems and partners
Generate high-quality, standardised data on depression-related brain patterns and treatment outcomes, to support service planning, research and the development of more targeted therapies.

Research led, patient centred.

Built on rigorous science and respect for patients

We are committed to:

  • Scientific rigour – pre-registered trials, independent ethics review and peer-reviewed publication of results wherever possible

  • Patient respect – language and processes that validate people’s experiences and support shared decision-making, not labels or stigma

  • Clinical partnership – designing with clinicians, not for them, so that LumetrixDx fits real workflows and constraints

Our goal is to help reshape depression care in a way that feels more objective, more personalised and more humane.
